About OAMPS

OAMPS Insurance Brokers Ltd (formerly Spencer Jones), are based in Victoria and are registered by the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (formerly the Insurance and Superannuation Commission) and members of the National Insurance Brokers Association of Australia.

In conjunction with W.R. Berkley Insurance Australia, they have designed a Liability Insurance policy specifically to meet the needs of practitioners in the fields of Traditional Medicine, Natural Therapies and Clinical/Remedial Massage.

In the main, our needs have been seen to be in the areas of:-

SOME OF THE FEATURES OF THE COVER

Perhaps the most significant difference between the cover which we have negotiated and that provided by most other Insurers is that in our case, cover is provided on an 'Occurrence' basis. Briefly, this means that protection exists in respect of any event occurring or alleged to have occurred whilst the policy was in force.

Should you retire or cease business for any reason whatsoever, there is no need to purchase 'run-off' cover to provide for claims made after the policy has expired but attributed to actions alleged to have happened during its currency. Bearing in mind that some conditions may take a considerable time to manifest, to be properly diagnosed and then to form the basis of legal action we believe our approach is significantly preferable to that adopted by most insurers.

The cover also offers Multiple Modality Cover, meaning there is no need to take out individual cover if you practice more than one modality.
For example, if you practice, Chiron Healing® as well as Massage, Reiki, Reflexology, Naturopathy all of these modalities are covered under the one policy.

GENERAL

Whilst the Combined Liability Policy certainly provide a wide ranging protection, there are of course other forms of liability which the policy does NOT protect.

Chief amongst these are:-

a) Workers Compensation. The policy is not intended to protect this risk. If the practice has any employees, then a separate Workers Compensation policy should be affected.

b) Contractual Liabilities. The policy will not automatically follow all contracts which might be entered into. These should be referred to us for specific advice.

Insurance Cover Price List: (To Be Used as a GUIDE ONLY)

The following prices are based on annual insurance fees.
Pro-rata prices will vary depending upon the time when your application is logged.

1. Cover from $220* PA for $1,000,000 cover
2. Cover from $270* PA for $2.000.000 cover
3. Cover from $340* PA for $5.000.000 cover
4. Cover from $440* PA for $10.000.000 cover

* NOTE: Some prices for cover do vary depending upon which modality is practiced.

How Do I Obtain Cover?

Once you have become an accredited IACHI Chiron Healing® Practitioner and / or Chiron Healing® Teacher Member, your IACHI Membership Certificate along with details of how to obtain a copy of the Insurance application form and policy details will be mailed out to you.

You maybe required to include with your insurance application a copy of your IACHI Practitioner/Teacher Membership Certificate.

Remember you must be a financial IACHI member at all times to maintain your insurance cover.

This means that your annual IACHI membership dues need to be paid by July 1st of every year!

Please do not return any payment with your proposal form. The premium for your particular period of insurance will be assessed and an Acceptance Notice confirming the cost will be sent to you.
